The most common issues with computers and laptops range from viruses, malware, adware, hardware failure and drivers missing.
When installing Windows or other operating systems your computer normally needs drivers installed, because without these drivers the computer doesn't know how to make use of the device or doesn't know what the device is at all.
There is a simple fix to this issue if your computer is working prior to installing your new operating process backup the drivers or download them onto a outside drive or information pen, so after you have installed your new operating process you have simple access to them again with having to find them again because if your network driver has not been backed up you might not be able to access the net again to get the drivers.
Windows normally installs some basic drivers that work most of the time but if your device is elderly then there is a chance that the driver won't be installed with Windows installation.
A common issue is with viruses plaguing the computer making it impossible to do anything on it.
In the event you find out that you have a virus on your computer and you cannot remove fundamentally the normal solution is to boot up in a safe mode and use your antivirus application to remove it. Windows safe mode can be accessed by pressing F8 before Windows starts loading, and then you receive a list of startup options select "safe mode".
In the event you use antivirus application most of the time they scan for this type of application and prevent it from attacking your files. The same was a virus is removed can be used on most malware, if it cannot be removed fundamentally then booting up in safe mode ought to work.
Malware is another common issue with computers this type of application is not like a virus as such but it is designed to break your computer or make it slow and cease anything fully working on it.
Adware is application that is designed to go unnoticed and sends information to another computer without you knowing it is even there. Application like key loggers are normally installed onto the process by fake files that you download thinking they are something else or if anyone else has accessed your computer and installed it by hand.
Again most anti viruses check for this type of application and remove it before anyone can get your data/information.
Most issue are application bases but some are hardware based, e.g. if a device fails, breaks, comes lose, or falls out. Hardware issues are anything from video cards not being pushed in all the way, cables have come lose or have fallen out all together. These are fundamentally fixed by plugging them back in properly and ensuring they are securely fitted in.
But on the rare occasions the hardware fails or breaks where the only option is to replace the broken device or try and get it repaired by a specialist. The most common hardware that fails the most are things like keyboards, mousse, speakers and monitors.
There is still plenty of issues not covered in here, these are smaller issues that don't normally effect the usage of a computer, things like songs/videos not playing properly due to different recording codec's being used to generate the file.
Browsing the net can also generate issues for people, this is because some web pages are not viewed correctly in the browser application being used, but there is now plenty of different browser application out there to pick from, but the issue chiefly lies with the generate of the webpage as it is a coding error that will require fixing by them.
Also issues with webmail and other web applications are not covered here because they are so different from another.
